1985 BMW K100RT - 13K Miles, One Owner!
This 1985 K100RT is in outstanding, like-new condition. It has only 13,300 miles on the bike and has had only one owner!
The 1,000cc, liquid-cooled, 4-cylinder engine is strong and responsive. It accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 4.3 seconds.
It has a 5-speed transmission and a drive shaft for super smooth and quiet shifting.
This, in many people's opinion, was the best year for the K100 as it was the year before emissions control requirements reduced the pep and power of this and other motorcycles in its class.
The following upgrades have been made:
* The bike has a Luftmeister exhaust which sounds nice and beefy but not obnoxious.
* A Parabellum windshield has been installed to provide better protection.
* A premium quality Corbin seat is installed.
* The original parts come with the bike, if desired.
As this bike sat idle for awhile, an $800 major servicing was just performed to include:
* New fuel pump
* New fuel filter
* The Bosch 4-nozzle injectors were recently serviced and cleaned.
* All four throttle bodies re-synchronized
* All fluids changed
* New oil filter
* New air filter
* New battery
* New spark plugs
The bike comes with the original owner's manual and the complete tool kit. Both are in perfect condition. Also included are matching BMW side cases that are in excellent condition.
The graphite grey paint is perfect and without any imperfections. No nicks, no scratches.
The tires are nearly new and all rubber parts are in excellent condition.
You will not find a K100 in nicer condition than this one. Cosmetically and mechanically it is in like-new condition. Top quality images are available upon request.
My price is $5,000. No haggling please.

This is a fully restored K75S, top to bottom and front to rear. Its shining color is now Black-Cherry. This is the smoothest motorcycle on the road. It’s hard to believe how vibration free it is. It has new fork slider seals, topped off with new fluid. Brakes are in excellent working order. Replaced the starter button switch due to a broken off button. Drained and replaced all lubricating lubricants and filters. Replaced the air filter with a K & N type so you will never have to buy a new filter. This one is good for 80 K when ridden on paved and asphalt surfaces. Then you would remove the filter wash it out and re-oil it and re-install it. I replaced the battery with a new one. New Continental Conti-gos keep it tracking down the road for many more miles than most other brands. It’s equipped with side cases, tool kit, and owner’s manual. This machine has 52,650 miles on it. My price is $3,250.00. I can send pictures per request.

I am selling my trusty 2001 K1200RS that I have owned for about 6-7 years now. The bike only has 33,670 miles on it and these bikes will easily put 100k + on them reliably. Most reliable bike I have ever owned and all maintenance done by previous head mechanic at BMW of Louisville. Bike is in very good mechanical shape and great shape body wise except for a few scratches on the front plastic sides from dropping bike in wet grass. The bike needs nothing to drive to California and back currently.
I am only selling to get an adventure bike that can handle offroad conditions. This bike is a wonderful sport-touring bike with an excellent history of reliability, comfort, speed, and handling. I took her down to the Smokey Mountains last summer and it was perfect for the highway and the twisty roads on the mountains. She is very fast at 130HP stock. Here is the list of extras, maintenance, etc...
-In June 2016 I had the 48,000 mile service interval work done by the BMW mechanic as I wanted it to be perfect before my road trip, even though it wasn't due for another 12,000 miles.
Here is a list of items done at that time:
--oil and oil filter change
-- air filter change
--valves checked and were within tolerance
--all fluids drained and replaced including coolant, front and rear brakes, transmission, and final drive
--new throttle cable
--new low and high beam bulbs
--front and rear brake pads checked and well within tolerance
--new fuel filter
--new sealed battery
--4 new spark plugs
--new grips with heated grips fully functioning
--Lubed center/side stands
--New Michelin Pilot 4 rear tire, Metzler Z6 roadtec front tire still in great shape and inspected
All work done by certified BMW head mechanic and with genuine BMW parts.
$$$Here are the extras and spare parts that come with the bike:--GIVI monokey rear top bag with luggage rack with functioning LED brake and turn signals $600 new and can hold 2 full fuce helmets--OEM BMW hard hard bags $$--Clymer manual $40--BMW special tool oil filter wrench--extra used throttle cable and high beam bulb in good shape--used sealed battery in good shape $100--extra new valve cover gasket around $70 but current gasket in good shape--new front brake pads still in package $80--4 new BMW spark plugs and old plugs too that show it has been running great--extra bolts for plastic as I replaced with new stainless steel bolts in 2016--I installed Booster plug in the airbox that adds extra temperature sensor and takes away the stutter at low RPM $100--comes with recovered Corbin seat on bike and extra BMW stock seat $400--2 BMW aux plug adapters for charging anything/everything on bike--Battery tender plug already installed--extra tall aero flow adjustable windshield that lets you cruise with getting fatigued by wind--pull back risers on handlebars for better upright seating and comfort--Garmin Zumo mount and cross bar mount already hard wired in $200+--GIVI 15L xstream bag mount on gas tank. I will be keeping the bag but the mount stays if you want to buy another bag. Wonderful tank bag in my experience.
I might be missing some details. Bike is mostly clean, but not professionally detailed as I like to ride it all year and not clean it all the time. I keep it in garage when not riding. No crashes on bike. It does not have any major oil leaks or burn any oil. Everything works as it should. Absolutely great bike that I wish I could keep for a spare if I had more room. $4000 OBO. Cash on hand for any test ride. I am very honest and will let you know everything I can about bike. Clean Kentucky title in my name. Please text, but can call if you only have landline. Pics in craigslist ad.
