1981 R80 G/S

According to the April 2017 issue of Motorcyclist magazine: "The first adventure bike, the mother of the movement, and the savior of BMW's motorcycle division... that first G/S's monumental impact to BMW and the motorcycling world simply cannot be overemphasized." This is from the first year of production of approximately 6650 bikes. I brought it new in 1981 from Storm's Cycle in Grand Prairie, Texas. The bike has been well cared for and is all original except for a Wilburs rear shock. The odometers is at 27788 which is a few miles short of actual due to a brief period when it was stuck - it is now restored and working. The bike is in good running condition.

I am open to offers. I would like to sell as a whole but I am not opposed to splitting it up. Pictures available upon request. Thanks for the interest

R75 Heads, Barrels, Finned Exh. Nuts. ALL or as Pairs. serviced by Paul Sturges

Available here is a pair of R75 heads, barrels and exhaust nuts that I was going to use, but ended up with a complete R100 motor for my bike. They came from a 72 R75/5. The heads are ready to install and use, as are the exhaust nuts, due to nationally renowned machinist Paul Sturges, who disassembled, cleaned, media blasted and inspected all components and said that heads likely have had recent service and valve seats and guides are still in very good shape, ready for immediate use. Exhaust threads on one head were restored to "as new" condition. All fins are intact, both on barrels and heads. While I did not have him do any service on the barrels, Paul indicated that the cast iron sleeves have lots of meat on them and are good for several oversize bores. One of the cast iron sleeves in the cylinders has some pitting near the top, so it was advised to first purchase the appropriate pistons that one would like to use and then give both to their preferred machine shop for boring to the next-up size. Overall, this is a great way to have options for your winter project, whether upgrading, refreshing or outright restoration.

I PREFER SELLING AS A LOT, BUT WOULD ENTERTAIN REASONABLE OFFERS FOR PAIRS OF EITHER THE HEADS, THE BARRELS OR THE NUTS.............................................................And please contact me BY PHONE CALL versus email.....you'll have much faster response. On the outside chance that I can't answer the call, pls. do leave me a voice mail that includes your phone number. THANKS A LOT

Pair of LUFTMEISTER AUXILIARY FUEL TANKS (1g.+ ea) for most AirHeads /5, /6, /7

Up for grabs is a set of saddle-type auxiliary fuel tanks for early airhead BMW’s.This is a period-correct accessory for your /5, /6, /7. They are mounted in place of your side-covers. Since they are a beautiful aluminum, somewhere along the line the original powder-coating has been painstakingly removed fronts and edges and they are still in somewhat polished condition. They could buff out and look even shinier. Cosmetically, you'll only find a tiny nick here and there. They're in really good condition for their age. Both tanks still have the “explosafe” aluminum mesh in the tanks. Fuel valves, though not matching, are intact and operational. I believe one of them was replaced at one time. Since they are threaded in, you could easily purchase a matching pair, if you think you can see the bike from both sides at the same time. Fuel caps are also threaded and in great shape. I removed them from a /6 and they're easy to install. The only thing you'd want to acquire is some pieces of rubber to put between the tank backs/mounts and the frame. Total capacity is 2 Gallons. There are numerous ways to connect the fuel lines to the main tank, see Snowbums page on auxiliary tanks here: http://bmwmotorcycletech.info/luftmstrtanks.htm

thanks for looking......and CALLS are my preferred method of communication.
