1980 R65 project

I am selling this low mileage (25000) R65 that I owned years ago, sold to a friend who never rode it, and bought back a few years ago. I diagnosed all the issues (front brake rebuild, fork seals, carb cleaning, broken spring in driveshaft, 'patina,' etc.) and bought most of the parts and tools to fix it up.
Includes matching Luftmeister fairing, toolkit, manual, seat in good shape. I upgraded it to nikasil cylinders but never broke it in, may need to be honed.
Before I part it out I thought I'd offer it as a whole bike with clean title. I am located in Southwest Virginia (near Roanoke) and can deliver it in the Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland area.
If interested respond and we can talk, share photos, come visit, whatever.

1977 BMW R100/7

1977 BMW R100/7. The bike is an absolute pleasure to ride and is 100% mechanically sound. The bike runs and rides just like the day came off the showroom floor. Recently the bike has been fully serviced which includes oil change, brake fluid flushed, brand-new dry cell battery, and carburetors cleaned & balanced. The only issue the bike has to my knowledge is the tires are starting to show their age and at some point would be to be replaced and a small rip in the seat seem. All numbers on the bike our matching the bike does come with the original tool pouch as well as tools.Again you won't be disappointed in the condition of this beautiful well-maintained BMW.

1971 BMW R75/5

I am selling my baby..she is just one too many machines in my life. She started life as an R60/5 swb, and is now a R75/5 lwb. She comes with her original motor ( and tranny) that was crated when running 20 years ago, and with the short swing arm...If for some reason you would want to restore her with matching numbers. She has had all the metal Powder coated Blue. Rebuilt carbs, all new oils, valves adjusted and freshly tuned.

New paint on fenders, tank(s), fairing (Wixom), trunk, battery covers. The pin-striping is all by hand like the original. New covers on both the factory and corbin seats. 3 sets of luggage...krauser white with nice patina, krauser black that I have used extensively, and a new never used set of black hepco/becker reproduction bags. Two one piece (original BMW) luggage racks chrome. One that holds the hard plastic, and one that holds the classic period leather bags (available now from Blue Moon). I have replaced a lot of bolts with stainless. AND!!!...bar end turn signals from the R69S model. (originals, not reproductions). I also have matching /6 battery covers, when you want to change her look. BOTH the classic toaster tank and larger tank with rubber knee pads. BMW factory tank bag....and way too many spare parts to list. The 4 speed gearbox was rebuild around 65K, I replaced the timing chain around 70K. The headlight is upgraded to H4, fork springs are now progressives, rear springs upgraded. (saved all original equipment). Tool kit with a few tools added to the factory one. factory tire pump.

Everything works as it should and she runs smooth and strong. She is not a museum piece, but is in very very good condition. I think these old /5's are some of the best bikes BMW ever produced, and are too fun to ride to let them be garage queens. I am probably going to regret selling it...

1992 BMW R100GS for sale

1992 BMW R100GS for sale, 832XX miles.

The bike is not cosmetically perfect, this is a rider, and it has a few minor scrapes and nicks. I am the third owner, the previous owner took it to Baja and fell down, I had a low-speed drop in Death Valley in 2016.

I have service records from the early 90's to current. Lots of upgrades; dual-plugged at San Jose BMW, Dyna Coils, WP shock, Kisan signal-minder, driving lights, SS Brake front line, Staintune exhaust, recent Brembo four-pot front brake, EBC front rotor, Stebel airhorn, new LED Taillight and lens, recent Omega alternator and diode board, recent Alpha bean can, recent Nippon Denso starter, gearbox rebuilt at 64K miles, heads re-done at 80K miles, rebuilt carbs, new steering head bearings in 2017, new cables, large mis-matched aftermarket aluminum panniers. Oil pan rock guards, oil cooler re-positioned.

Spares included; OEM BMW panniers, two carbs, extra gas tank, OEM dual seat, OEM exhaust, and many other spares. More pictures on request.

Only reason I'm selling it is because I bought a 2009 F800GS.

No trades, no cashiers checks. I've seen all the scams, don't even try it.

1977 R100RS Excellent Condition

BMW 1977 R100RS

1977 BMW R100RS--Original, with approx 35,000 miles. Always stored indoors. Very good to excellent condition with a few scratches though no dents or cracks and a solid original bike. This is the first year of this bike with the blue pinstripe spoked wheels, original bluish/grey paint with blue pinstripes and blue ATE calipers. Upgraded Parabellum windscreen, New Wilbers 900.00 shocks 2,000 miles ago. The bike has been covered, stored with fuel stabilizer and float bowls drained, with new dry cell battery installed 4/2018--started immediately. The odometer started acting up approx. 29,000 miles, and will register 7,000 miles for a 100 mile trip. I have owned 11 airheads and heard of this problem, but this is the only bike in which I have actually seen it. I had one repair done to the odometer, but it still does this. The definitive fix is sending to Palo Alto which I haven’t done. This is a 38mm exhaust valve model, a California CFO bike. I have both 38 and 40mm bikes from 1977 and 1978. The advantage of the 38 is better mileage and better low-end torque. The advantage of the 40 is a bit more top end hp. I have owned three R100RS bikes. It remains my favorite bike period. I just don’t ride anymore having started tracking cars 6 years ago.

1975 BMW R906

Regretfully, I’m listing my beautiful 1975 BMW R90/6 for sale. This is a meticulously maintained and unmolested, low mileage bike. I spent a great deal of time looking for an R90 of this caliber and didn't intended to part with it, but circumstances dictate that I must do so. I purchased this bike from the original Texas owner who lovingly cared for it until he was no longer able to ride. It has never spent a night outdoors. It has covered a mere 29,xxx miles since new. This bike was the original owner's pride and joy, as well as mine. Since I had intended for this bike to be a keeper and wanted to combine the power and ride-ability of the R90 with the classic looks of the earlier /5, I added the rare (and pricey) BMW toaster tank and matching chrome side covers. I also had a high quality paint job done on the tank at great expense. The rest of the bike is still in original paint. I replaced the poorly designed and trouble prone under tank front master cylinder and cable set up with a new bar mounted unit for the /7 models. It's no longer necessary to remove the fuel tank to check the brake fluid level. I also replaced the brake hose and pads as well as both tires less than 600 miles ago. The original touring tank and fiberglass side covers will be included as well as the under tank master cylinder, brake cable and brake lever. The touring tank has a small dent on the right side. The original BMW air pump is present under the seat. The rare BMW tool kit and owner’s manual are included as well as the fiberglass tool tray. The tray has a crack but these are available new if the crack bothers the next owner. To improve handling and to also keep the bike period correct, I located and installed a set of real Koni (not Ikon) dial-a-ride rear shocks, correct for the BMW R series. If you’re familiar with these bikes, you know that the choke lever and the one-into-two cable setup for the Bing carbs leaves a lot to be desired. The cables tend to stick causing the enrichers to hang and the engine to run rough. I installed a set of Boxer Metal’s pull chokes specifically designed to address the inherent shortcomings of the original setup. This is a vast improvement over the lever and cable arrangement. The original choke setup will be included and can easily be swapped back in a matter of minutes. The plastic chrome trim strip on the bottom edge of the seat wasn’t up to my standards so I removed it and bought a new one from BMW but haven’t had a chance to install it. I may do so if time permits before the bike leaves my possession. If not, it will go to the new owner. This bike has never been down, it runs, rides, handles and stops beautifully, and is in superb cosmetic condition. The only flaws are some paint chips on the front fender and a small ding in the right side chrome tank panel. The 898 cc boxer twin starts instantly, is quiet and smooth and has gobs of power and torque. The bike has no fluid leaks. The slight improvements that I’ve made can all be easily undone, although I can’t imagine why anyone would choose to. This bike is a true attention getter and stands out in the sea of Harleys and indistinguishable new bikes. It’s a beautiful, low mileage 42 year old vintage motorcycle that can be reliably ridden and will hold its own with modern bikes. It has a fresh tune up, needs nothing and is ready to ride cross-country, if desired. The next owner will not be disappointed

'78 Belgian Police Special

1978 R100RS, metallic red over gray, 40 mm exhaust & kick start.

There were supposedly 100 or so of these bikes shipped to Butler & Smith, all euro spec with this paint job, kick start and 4 way flashers. The story is that it was an order cancelled by the Belgian Police, and BMW had to do something with the bikes......

I found this one in Texas several years ago. Original, exc. condition and with ridiculously low miles. The bike hadn't been stored properly, and the motor needed attention. It received Seibenrock pistons, Nikasil cylinders and Ted Porter did the heads. After being lovingly and methodically broken in, the bike then went on to spin a rod bearing........so the motor came out again. Dave, at Quality Cycle (our local AirMarshal), re-did the motor, tweaking the valve seats a bit and installing an excellent condition used crank. The bike was again carefully broken in, re-torquing the heads at certain increments. The bike currently has ~36K, and I believe they are original miles.

Happy to have the bike submitted for a Pre-purchase inspection. Bike now located in Bay Area (San Ramon), so shop should be in that general area. Will deliver in enclosed trailer in SW for fuel $, although timing will need to fit my schedule.

I have 4 very special Airheads, and I am trying to get down to one or two........thus the Belgian's availability. Price may change over time.....thinking about making a couple of small changes to make it 100% (re-paint lowers & add 4 way flashers).

Pics @ BMWMOA Marketplace,......sorry, but it's not a CL or EB bike.
