I offer up my vintage R90s BMW in Silver Smoke color.
These BMW's were the top of their class in 1975.
Mileage is uncertain as the odometer has been repaired/replaced.
I think paint is original.
Heads had valve job two years ago.
Hub splines lubed
It's a rider and not a show bike
I might consider trade of BMW /2 conversion that's done and done correctly.
You can call or text for the detail or schedule a viewing.

'71 R75/5 Toaster SWB
Bike is fully restored and zero-timed, I've had her since 1978. Granada Red and 37,600 on the clock. Had everything checked out and MANY new parts. $13,000 invested, but will take the Hagerty appraisal at $8000. I'm getting too old to ride. Clear NM title.

I am selling my baby..she is just one too many machines in my life. She started life as an R60/5 swb, and is now a R75/5 lwb. She comes with her original motor ( and tranny) that was crated when running 20 years ago, and with the short swing arm...If for some reason you would want to restore her with matching numbers. She has had all the metal Powder coated Blue. Rebuilt carbs, all new oils, valves adjusted and freshly tuned.
New paint on fenders, tank(s), fairing (Wixom), trunk, battery covers. The pin-striping is all by hand like the original. New covers on both the factory and corbin seats. 3 sets of luggage...krauser white with nice patina, krauser black that I have used extensively, and a new never used set of black hepco/becker reproduction bags. Two one piece (original BMW) luggage racks chrome. One that holds the hard plastic, and one that holds the classic period leather bags (available now from Blue Moon). I have replaced a lot of bolts with stainless. AND!!!...bar end turn signals from the R69S model. (originals, not reproductions). I also have matching /6 battery covers, when you want to change her look. BOTH the classic toaster tank and larger tank with rubber knee pads. BMW factory tank bag....and way too many spare parts to list. The 4 speed gearbox was rebuild around 65K, I replaced the timing chain around 70K. The headlight is upgraded to H4, fork springs are now progressives, rear springs upgraded. (saved all original equipment). Tool kit with a few tools added to the factory one. factory tire pump.
Everything works as it should and she runs smooth and strong. She is not a museum piece, but is in very very good condition. I think these old /5's are some of the best bikes BMW ever produced, and are too fun to ride to let them be garage queens. I am probably going to regret selling it...

BMW R75 1971 Beautiful Old School Classic Air Head
Thank you for considering this wonderful old school 1971 BMW R75/5. John 914 403 1768. This is a well preserved example of one of the finest and smoothest classic air cooled BMW motorcycles ever built, and is one of the last built before the bikes turned to plastics. This very proper Air head bike starts on a dime and runs true to its name. The cosmetics of the bike show its age, close to 50 years, while at the same time looking just great. The black paint is original throughout, including the white striping on the fenders and tank. 71 and 72 were the first 2 years where electric start was introduced while keeping the old school left side kicker. Cool. The bike was optioned from new with its oversized 6.5 gallon fuel tank with Euro style knee pads. This option was over 300 dollars in 1971! The bike was sold new on the continent and as such the speedometer reads in kilometers. So while traveling at 60 MPH, the speedo will show 90 kilometers per hour. The bike has traversed a total of 122000 kilometers. ( approximately 85000 miles)
The bike runs out perfectly. The original dual carbs are synchronized perfectly and it fires off in one revolution. All the electronics work perfectly and the bike has its current NYS safety inspection. All the electronics work like new as well. Tires, brakes, cables etc all have been renewed. The seat pan is original showing no signs of rust. This bike was gone thru by the late guru of beemers, Cue, from House of Triumph in Thornwwod NY. Ive owned several of these /5 bikes, never one where the tach, speedo and tripmeter all work. Horn as well! I am including all the extra parts shown in the photos including a very desirable rear end. Lets chat, feel free to call or text me at 914 403 1768. In closing, this is a ready to run with bike. Just put it on the road and enjoy the seasons with no hassle. This is an example with no repop parts. Everything on this bike has lived together for decades. The bike may be inspected thoroughly in the scenic hamlet of Bedford Village, only 42 miles north of Times Square, NYC.
Lets talk soon, 914 403 1768. Thank you, John Louis

Very nice red '93 R100/RT. Only 26,000 miles. Full BMW fairing, BMW hard saddlebags, Corbin seat with backrest, Hyperlites. Extra rear rack, Clymers manual, cover.
Fun to ride and handles well! The only negatives are it has a slow oil drip from around the oil pan gasket. This seems to happen when it is parked after a ride. Also, the voltmeter doesn't work.

This is a 1982 R65LS that I have had for over 25 years. My son, who was and still is in the military, came accrossed it in Texas. It was in rough shape but the price was fair, so he asked me if I wanted to buy it to restore. I said sure and he hauled it up here to Wis. It would start up and run but I figured needed a lot of engine work, so it sat in my shop until last fall when I decided to make it my winter hobby. As I was working on it I could tell that it has not been down or in a wreck but it was neglected. There wasn't much normal up keep done to it. So I started by installing a different engine that I bought from a friend. It was also from an '82 LS. It started right up and was running good, so I restarted it and let if run for a while and noticed blue smoke exiting the right cylinder. The left one was just fine. I tore it down and in the process of reassembly, checked the rods for any possible play. Finding none, examined the cylinder barrels and found no scores, scratches but just beautiful mirror finish walls. Ireplaced the rings on both pistons with a new standard size set. I examined the heads, valve guides and valves for anyplay but found none. I hand lapped the valves so I knew they were sealing. I reassembled the engine, started it up and in amatter of seconds there was clean, clear exhaust. So now I knew the engine was good. I continued to change the lubricants in the engine, transmission, driveshaft swing arm, final drive and appropriate filters. I installed a K&N air filter that eliminates ever having to buy another. It's good for about 60 thousand miles on paved surfaces before it should be removed, cleaned and reoiled then put back in. There were no brakes at all on the bike. The previous owner replaced the brake shoes but they didn't work because they were the standard size for the regular R65. They were too small for the LS. I had to order a new set for the R65LS and when I installed them, there was good contact with the brake drum. It had no front wheel brakes because for some reason or other the brake lever was removed. The pads were in great condition with only about 22 thousand miles on them. So after purchasing a new lever, flushing the system out, replenishing the brake fluid, they worked fine. I removed the triple tree, washed out the steering head bearings, repacked them and reassembled the steering head. Replaced the fork slider seals, drained the fork oil and replenished with new. So, now with a brand new set of Continental (ContiGo) tires, new battery, a good set of BMW mirrors, it was ready to go, so I thought. It seemed to run well but I could not get it to idle. I removed the carbs and made sure they were clean but I still could't get it to idle. Having limited test equipment I decided to take it in to the dealer and have his shop mechanics check it out for me. They diagnosed the problem to be an intermittent short between the coils that are molded into one unit. Roughly about $250.00 plus labor of about one hour and two months of waiting for the new coil to come from the factory in Germany. Now I have a great running R65LS. The bike is Silver and has not been repainted. I replaced the BMW logos on the tank and tail section. I recovered the seat with deer hide and it is very comfortable. It has the factory handle bar mounted plexiglass/windshield that was designed for this bike. Included is the tool kit and the Rider's Handbook which has never been used or marked up. I will include the old engine with this bike. I will gladly send pics per request.
